Happy First Day of August! Can you believe how quickly this year is flying by? I certainly can’t! Since August is the transition month between Summer and Fall it makes it the perfect time to start collecting makeup for the Fall! In today’s post, I tell you all about an eyeshadow palette that will be my go-to this Fall!
The Maybelline Burgundy Bar Eyeshadow Palette has 12 eyeshadows ranging from deep burgundies to glimmering golds to soft browns to bold coppers! These shades are PERFECT for the Fall but many of the shades can also be used to create pretty Summer looks as well making it a perfect transition palette between Summer and Fall!
The Burgundy Bar palette has 10 shimmery shades and 2 matte shades! The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and are so easy to blend! They’re also very soft and buttery so there is a little fallout but if you apply a primer beforehand that will mimimize that! The shadows last all day without creasing which I was really impressed by!
With its shade range, this palette is perfect for creating SO many different looks and even for going from a daytime to nighttime look! These eyeshadows are the MOST sparkly drugstore eyeshadows I have ever tried so if you’re like me and love a lot of sparkle then you’re going to LOVE these shades!
The Burgundy Bar is also great for traveling because you have everything you need for a complete eye look in one palette (highlight, shimmers, mattes) and it’s the perfect size for putting in your purse or bag! It comes with an eyeshadow brush which I personally never use but if you’re in a pinch, it’ll do!
One of the things that I love about this palette is that on the back there is an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to create 13 different looks with this one palette! So whether or not you’re good at makeup, this guide can be very helpful!
Here are the swatches of the 12 shadows, they don’t have names but I’ve swatched them in the order they are in the palette from left to right:
Overall, I love this palette and I’ve used it A LOT already (mainly the gold shades for Summer looks) but I know I’ll be using all the shades when Fall rolls around! Since there are only 2 matte shades in this palette, you’re likely to run out before you use the rest of the palette which doesn’t bother me at all but I do think it’s something to note. For $12 this palette performs as well as or even better than some of the higher end palettes that I have tried so I highly recommend checking it out for yourself! You can currently find it on Amazon for $9!
