SheIn Shopping Guide - Tips and Tricks

SheIn Shopping Guide

Hey Lovelies!

Today’s post is all about shopping on SheIn! You may have seen ads for the company on your Facebook feed and may have thought to yourself “this is too good to be true!” I was one of those people! However, the more I kept seeing the ads as well as bloggers wearing clothes from there, the more intrigued I was to try it out for myself! I started reading blogs, watching YouTube hauls, and checking out SheIn’s Instagram to familiarize myself with the company and to make the best shopping choices when ordering from them!

SheIn sells really affordable and trendy clothes, accessories, jewelry, purses, swimsuits, jackets, and shoes! I wouldn’t have my whole wardrobe full of clothes from just SheIn but since trends come and go it’s a great place to buy items that you may wear several times without breaking the bank! Shopping at SheIn can be a hit or miss but if you follow these tips you should be able to find some really good items just like I did in this haul!

SheIn Shopping Guide

Check out SheIn’s Instagram

Looking at the pictures that SheIn has posted as well as their tagged pictures is the perfect starting point when thinking about shopping there especially if you’re not sure what you want to buy yet!

Watch YouTube Hauls

Pictures of clothes are great but videos are even better because you’re able to see how the items move so you can get a better idea of the material it’s made of as well as its quality!

Read Reviews

Since items can be a hit or miss on SheIn, this is the most important tip I have for getting a good item! Read through all the reviews to find out how items fit, how they look, and its quality! Even if you’re looking at a certain color or style variation of an item that may not have reviews, check the other colors and styles because usually the clothes are made the same! I try to stay away from buying anything that doesn’t have any reviews but it’s up to you if you want to take a chance on an item that you really like!

Look At Style Galleries

When you click on an item, there is a Style Gallery on the site where people who have bought that item can post their pictures and it’s a great way to see how the item looks, how it fits, and the length!

Look At Measurements & Size Guide

All the items on SheIn have different sizes meaning that if you fit in a small in one item you may not fit in a small in another! To ensure that you get the best size in each item, look at the size guide and take your measurements!

Shipping

Since the clothes come from China, shipping can take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks so if you’re looking to buy something for an event or special occasion keep that in mind and even then if the item isn’t what you thought it would be then that’s a whole other mess! If you’re really wanting a SheIn item for an event, then order way in advance! (I would say at least 35 days to be on the safe side in case it doesn’t work out and you need to find something else for the event.)

Returns

SheIn accepts returns within 30 days however there are some items that can’t be returned or exchanged (like jewelry, swimsuits, and a few more) so be aware of that before buying an item! I’ve never had to return anything so I can’t share any personal experiences of this!

SheIn Shopping Guide - Tips and Tricks

Washing Clothes

I ALWAYS wash clothes after buying them regardless of where they’re from! I was worried about washing the items I got from SheIn and looked online to see if I could find any tips on washing their clothes but I didn’t find anything. I ended up putting all three dresses in the washer and dryer and hoped for the best! They were perfectly fine but the only thing is the pink and grey striped dress in the picture above got a little “scrunched” so for items that are very thin it may be best to handwash and air dry them!

Steam The Clothes

The clothes come folded in a sealed plastic bag so once you take them out they’re very wrinkly! Ironing works but depending on the fabric of the item (especially when it’s thinner) it can take a really long time so I would suggest steaming the clothes for the best result!

Bonus Points

SheIn has this great program where you can earn bonus points through making purchases, writing reviews, and posting pictures that can be used to save money on your next order! 100 points equal $1 so definitely take advantage of that!

There is a UK Shein website now and I think the clothes come from London (think) mine only took about a week to come! Looking at the picture gallery was a life saver for me when I was buying a bikini from there! As much as this is a good website for cheap clothes, it isn’t the best. I couldn’t return a t-shirt which I think was really stupid. Steaming the clothes is a good shout! The bonus program is so good too, they also do student discount. You look amazing in all of those dresses but I think my fave is the pastel yellow dress, I just love that colour!! xx

all these outfits look stunning on you! it’s really helpful that you made this post because sometimes more indie brands can be very confusing. It is a little upsetting that the sizing can vary from item to item but then again that’s the case with pretty much all woman’s clothing isn’t it lol! thanks for sharing these tips! xxx

This is an excellent guide for Shein! I’ve made a few purchases from them before, as well as Romwe, and somehow, someway, most of the items were hits. I did get a few misses though, but found the return process really easy. I would definitely shop with them again.

Thank you for sharing! I never dared to buy from SheIn (also because 2 to 3 weeks is a long shipping time) but I definitely need to look at the website at least… (I never did as I didn’t want to get tempted if I saw something I like xD)
Thank you for your feedback on this!

I’m super excited to see someone else talking about this shop! One of my favorite plus size YouTubers talked about it in a haul and she looked gorgeous in everythinggggg. I want to try some stuff out once I get some extra money!

Definitely think it’s just a case of being careful with these stores! But you can definitely find some gems when you’ve got the patience to search through all of the pages properly! I’ve actually taken to buying from YesStyle for these types of clothes recently, found them to be a lot more reliable than the SheIn/Romwe/SammyDress sites. It’s a little more expensive but I know it’s going to fit… I’m just under 5 foot, so I have trouble getting clothes to fit at the best of times! 😉 xx

This is a great post, I’ve ordered a lot from Shein and never have had an issue with anything I have ordered but I am aware and watched many YouTube hauls and have read reviews where some items aren’t what you expect. I think you have to remember as well that a lot of the stuff is priced cheap so you can’t expect the quality to be amazing when you’re only paying 5 pounds or something! Great shopping guide 🙂
